Feeling better today matters. So does how you age. Large studies suggest that patterns rich in good fats — olive oil, nuts, fish, plants — support a longer, healthier life.
What the research found
The PREDIMED trial followed more than 7,000 adults at high heart risk. People who ate a Mediterranean-style diet with extra-virgin olive oil or nuts had fewer major heart events than people advised to eat lower fat.
In related PREDIMED analyses, higher olive oil intake was also linked with lower heart disease risk.
What this means for you
Cook with olive oil. Snack on a small handful of nuts. Add fish when you can. These are not “cheat” foods — they are tools for staying well.
GoodFat is here to make those choices easier to notice after you eat.
